Yumtea is a modern Asian café-patisserie built around the rituals of the day: a matcha before work, a coffee between meetings, a kimbap or katsu sando at lunch, a slice of cake in the afternoon, or a whole cake for someone worth celebrating.

What began as a speciality tea idea has grown into something more complete. Today, Yumtea brings together East Asian flavours, soft handmade bakes, carefully prepared drinks and comforting lunch favourites — all made with the same quiet attention to detail.

OUR STORY

Yumtea began with a simple idea: to create a speciality tea shop in Canary Wharf — a calm place for people to pause in the middle of a busy day.


But very quickly, we learned that tea alone was not enough. Our customers wanted more than a drink. They wanted something to go with it, something beautiful, something comforting, something they could return to every day.


So Yumtea evolved.


We added coffee for the morning crowd. We brought pastry into the kitchen and began making cakes with a lighter, softer style. Matcha became one of our most loved drinks, and soon our matcha cakes and desserts became part of the Yumtea identity. Over time, our cakes became what many customers knew us for.


Then came lunch. Our chicken katsu sando gave office workers something more distinctive than the usual sandwich, and our kimbap quickly became a weekday favourite. As we began baking shokupan, our soft Japanese-style milk bread became another foundation for the menu — from toast and breakfast ideas to sandos and bakery products.


Today, Yumtea is shaped by the people who visit us. We listen, we adapt, and we keep making the things our customers come back for: matcha, coffee, cakes, birthday cakes, shokupan, kimbap, sandos and soft serve.


It may have grown one idea at a time, but the purpose has stayed the same: to make everyday moments feel quietly indulgent.
